Lyra Belacqua and Pantalaimon (her animal daemon) live half-wild among with the scholars of Jordan College, Oxford. Her destiny waits to take on a whirlwind of adventure, to the frozen lands of the Arctic where witch-clans reign and ice-bears fight. Her immeasurable journey will have serious consequences that will take her far beyond her own world. 

This is a wonderful book to read and I found it hard to put down. I think this would be a good book to read in the winter when you can snuggle up on your sofa with a hot chocolate and slip away into a different world. The perfect read for people over the age of 12.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series of His Dark Materials.
